KARATE BIO| POLITICAL BIO

25 year old, Sheela Venero is a young American with lots of passion. Venero is the type of individual who understands dedication and commitment. At the age of 7 she began karate and so her journey through life began. Sheela spent hours in the dojo training, fine tuning her skills.  In 2004, she earned a spot on the United States National Team. Subsequently, Sheela won the 2005 and 2006 Jr. Pan American Championships. In 2007 after the Sr. Pan American Championships in Mexico, she then decided to hang up the gloves and focus in on school. Education has always been an important aspect in the Venero household so putting time aside for studies was a logical move.

It was in college that Sheela joined the College Republicans. Soon she was appointed the Vice President of the organization and then became the club president the following year. From there the rest is history. She joined the Broward County Young Republicans, the organization she then went onto lead. She worked for the Republican Party of Florida in 2008, during the McCain campaign. In 2009, she was the recipient of the Gerome E. Gray, Young Republican of the Year for Broward County.

“It’s funny how life turns out. If you had asked me during the peak of my [karate] training whether I would be involved in politics after college, I would have laughed. My goal was to graduate and jump right into law school and all the while training on my free time for fun. Now, I spend every evening jumping from one meeting to another, writing articles and then talking it up on some form of media.”

From the karate ring to the political arena, Sheela has always been passionate and put her whole heart into what she does. Today, she is still training and continues to hold a seat on the United States National Team. Check out her schedule to find out if she will be competing, traveling or speaking in a town near you.
